THE STORY BEHIND THE SAVE A CHILD’S HEART LOGO

In 1997, a five-year-old girl arrived from Moldova for treatment at our center in

Israel. At that time, she was blue, but nearly five months later, and after a

number of complicated operations, she was ready to go home.

Days before her departure, she drew a picture of an adult hand holding a little

child whose heart was clearly visible. When asked to explain her drawing, she

Tsaid: “I had a dream and there were many colors over my bed. Then a very big

hand came in the night. We flew off to a faraway land. Then they gave me a new

heart and I could run and dance.”

Her original picture (shown above) became the inspiration for our logo.
